Composite Resin

UniFil Bond is an advanced, easy-to-use, light-cured resin bonding system which utilizes both chemical and micro-mechanical  adhesion principles. It also has stress absorbing characteristics.

UniFil Bond is less sensitive to variation in dentin wetness when compared to traditional acid-etching / water rinse systems. UniFil Bond Self-Etching Primer ensures that the collagen will not collapse, because the primer is not washed off the tooth after placement and the monomers from the primer remain in the demineralized dentin supporting the collagen network during air drying. The result is increased adhesion, less post-operative sensitivity and fewer voids between the adhesive and dentin which minimizes the chance of nanoleakage.

UniFil Bond Self-Etching Primer is applied to the dentin and enamel surfaces of the prepared cavity and left undisturbed for 20 seconds, then dried with syringe air. No water rinse is required. UniFil Bonding Agent is immediately applied to the primed enamel and dentin surfaces and light-cured for 10 seconds and it is ready for composite placement.

    UniFil Bond Self-Etching Primer
  • Can sufficiently etch all types of enamel.
  • Removes the smear layer.
  • Prepares surface for bonding agent.
  • No water rinsing is required. Minimal technique steps.
    New 4-MET Adhesive Monomer
  • Provides acid etching effect on tooth surfaces.
  • Penetrates and diffuses throughout the dentin while decalcifying tooth structure.
  • Polymerizes together with the bonding agent to form a hybrid layer (approximately 1 um thick).
  • Carboxylic acid ions chemically bond to calcium in the tooth structure.
    Light-Cured UniFil Bonding Agent
  • Monomer component of bonding agent blends with the monomer component of the self-etching primer.
  • When polymerized by light-curing, resin tags are formed in the enamel and a hybrid layer is formed in the dentin.
High Adhesion Strength to Enamel and Dentin
  • Minimizes variability in bonding technique.
  • Less sensitive to dentin wetness compared to traditional acid etch-rinse bonding systems.
  • Results from chemical and micro-mechanical adhesion.
    Penetration of Fluoride
  • Fluoride ions from a fluoride releasing composite (like UniFil Flow) can be diffused into the tooth structure through UniFil Bond due to the hydrophilic monomer in the UniFil Bonding Agent.
